Project Description
Funding Source: National Institutes of Health/University of Alaska
Years Active: 2013
Evaluation Activities: Evaluation Plan Development
Alaska INBRE-3 is a continuation of previous NIH funding to stimulate biomedical research at the University of Alaska through infrastructure, faculty development, and student training. This 5-year, $15 million program spans 3 campuses and multiple departments.
We collaborated with program administration to develop a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) evaluation with both formative and summative strategies to record program activities; measure program outputs; and track short-, medium-, and long-term outcomes. These measurable program components were identified in nested conceptual frameworks (logic models).
ntegrated internal and external evaluation efforts include benchmarking, logistics/administrative performance measures, program reporting, metrics of program effectiveness, data validity strategies, and annual reporting.
